On Sunday, September 21, at 2:00 pm, musicians from the South Bend area will meet at Christ the King Lutheran Church, 17195 Cleveland Road, South Bend, to participate in “Sing for Unity,” observing the UN International Day of Peace. “Sing for Unity” is “a worldwide musical movement for unity, peace and community. Voices from around the planet sing to send a powerful message: We are one world, one people and we stand together in unity and community. Through music, we can transcend differences, cross borders and lift our voices to share a global message of joy, peace, unity and community.” The event is hosted by Forever Learning Institute’s Silvertones, who will be joined by The Ripple Effect, Vesper Chorale, and other groups and singers, and the public is warmly encouraged to attend and participate in group singing of songs for peace and international healing. Donations will be accepted for the refugee and immigrant resettlement programs of the United Religious Community of St. Joseph County.
